Missouri Charitable Registration Requirements
Unless exempt, charitable organizations must register with the Missouri Attorney General before soliciting charitable contributions in Missouri. However, Missouri exempts all IRS 501(c)(3) charities from registration.
Out-of-state nonprofits that register under the Missouri charitable registration laws are not required to qualify to do business in Missouri. However, engaging in other business activities such as having an office or employees in Missouri may trigger the requirement to register to do business in Missouri.
